Jungle Survival

Jungle Environmental Survival Training school was a premier Jungle survival school from the early 1960’s until 1991 for US military aviators, combat arms, and special operations forces in the Asia pacific region at the former US Naval base at Subic Bay, Zambales, Philippines. The Jest school retains its original location in what is now the Subic Bay metropolitan authority, an economic Freeport on the grounds of the former US base where it continues to provide military courses in jungle survival and civilian eco-tourism educational programs.

The instructor cadre for JEST is composed of Indigenous Aeta, or Negritos, the earliest inhabitants of the Philippines who have been employed by the US military as guides, trackers and survival instructors since the turn of the century.

G-1 Tactical Solutions hosts basic and advanced jungle survival courses (1-3 days) as JEST in conjunction with its advanced mastery training camps. The program of instruction is centered on the use of the Bolo with skills for providing food, water, shelter, medicine and may include advanced navigation and tracking.

Testimonials

"The G1 experience is a complete training well structured around physical fitness, Pekiti and firearms basics and tactics. It is equally enjoyable for those with or without experience in any of the fields covered during the training. The Pekiti training with highly qualified instructors was for me a great introduction and I still continue the training now, as the principles taught in the course go far beyond the scope of Pekiti and can be applied to any martial arts or self defense systems. The emphasis on footwork and its coordination with other techniques and upper body is an important part of the training which I found quite challenging but I ended up having great fun trying to make it work. The extra day of jungle survival was awesome and very instructive as an introduction and also shows how difficult a situation it can be to be in the middle of an environment that gets you out of your comfort zone. Overall, having participated in two G-1 sessions only made me join more of them as soon as I get the opportunity and although the days were tough and the nights quite short they were filled with unforgettable memories."

"We hear about many tactical training courses and as a civilian the first thing that comes into mind is that I can learn how to shoot better. This is clearly a misconception but sadly a common one. Through an opportunity provided, the G-1 Pipeline training has opened my eyes and mind to a view of new heights and challenges previously obscured. G-1 Tactical training has taught me exactly how I can be better in my abilities and performance, alone or with comrades with a level of training that I can depend my life on. There is no better training than one that teaches me how to save myself, my friends and my loved ones while under stressful and dangerous situations. G-1 Tactical has taught me exactly this and the confidence in myself through their training."
